Senita Basin Hike
Towards the end of the Puerto Blanco Drive is a northern spur road that heads towards the Senita Basin which rests below the Puerto Blanco and Sonoyta Mountains. Within the basin lies the Senita Cactus which is similar to the Organ Pipe Cactus but is only found in this one single basin. Therefore, it’s absolutely worth it to do the easy 2.9 mile loop trail that winds you through the desert foliage surrounded by rough mountains.
Be on the lookout for this awesome phenomenon called a crest. Even people who study these amazing cactuses aren’t sure why they’re formed but it’s fun to find them.
The alien extraterrestrial nature of these amazing Cactuses makes being around them fun and exciting so I absolutely recommend this hike!
