Green Mountain Trail to Granite Falls
10.8 Miles Roundtrip Out & Back
Moderate Hike to Waterfall Through Alpine Forest & Meadow
The Green Mountain Trail to Granite Falls is a 10.8 mile roundtrip hike that takes you through luscious forests, past a giant meadow, alongside a beautiful creek, and ends at a lovely tumbling waterfall.
One of the great things about this hike is that the entire 10.8 miles follows a beautiful water feature at first in the form of a creek before it turns into a river and then a waterfall.
Along the way you also pass the biggest meadow in the park. When I did this hike, it was one of the last days of summer in September of 2020 and much to my Basque friend and I’s surprise, it snowed on us… a lot. But it made for a gorgeous winter wonderland hike in the summer and it was absolutely worth it.
I certainly hope this hike opens back up again soon because it is a true Rocky Mountain gem. It truly has everything: Sweeping meadow vistas, a waterfall, plenty of gorgeous forest, and the perfect amount of elevation changes.
