Pioneertown

Pioneertown sits northwest of Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree on a winding desert mountain road off of Highway 62. It’s an old Hollywood filming location that’s now filled with rustic Wild West prop buildings, chic shops, and the very delicious Pappy + Harriet’s BBQ and live music joint.

The food at P+H’s is well worth the wait you may have to endure and they do not skimp on the portions. If the weather’s nice, you can even sit outside. But this high up in the desert it is usually windy and either pretty chilly or scorching hot.

It’s a fun stop and absolutely worth the short drive if you’re spending a weekend in the Joshua Tree area. The drinks are delicious and the leftovers will go well over the fire or in the microwave of your room.

Don’t miss the Goat wearing a hat!

I apologize for the pictures of people in masks… it was a silly time in California in 2021.

Also, don’t forget to catch the sunset!
