Natural Bridges National Monument
Like Hovenweep National Monument, Natural Bridges National Monument is one of those blessedly quiet and spectacular places that’s rarely visited by the masses. The campsites are always seemingly open and the hikes are solitary. Not to mention, the road has an amazing view of Bears Ears, especially at sunset. And it’s on one of my favorite places… Cedar Mesa. Check out the Stories Tab for a neat time.
The Monument is mostly a road with turn-offs, short hikes, and amazing views. Although there is an under the bridges trail that looks like it would be pretty awesome. I’ve only ever gone to the lookouts though. The first two bridges are Sipapu and Kachina and mixed around them are some ruins!
But the real star of the show is Owachomo Bridge. It’s so impressive with its length and reach and how it catches the sunlight at sunset perfectly.
Another noteworthy feature of Natural Bridges is its amazing view of Bear Ears! Which, obviously, you should see at sunset. Or sunrise!
