If you’d love an amazing view of the Islands in the Sky, the Colorado River, and the La Sal Mountains, you should check out Dead Horse Point State Park one fine morning sunrise. If you’re lucky, it’ll be after a day of rain where the air is so crisp and clear you can hardly believe your eyes. I’m not sure there are hikes per se (there is one that follows the mesa top peninsula walls), there’s really just great lookout after great lookout. You can also see Shafer Trail, The Henry and Abajo Mountains, and all the red buttes and walls your heart desires. At $20 a car it is pricey, but the views are worth it.
