Moderate to Strenuous With A Steep Hike Up To Amazing Formations & Views

Cathedral Spires Trail is one of my favorite hikes of all time. You start out just off the amazing Needles Highway before immediately climbing upwards through a spruce and pine forest with trickling water and wildlife watching. It is beautiful, picturesque, and peaceful. And then at the top of the trail where it splits, you take the right trail towards the towering granite spikes that reminded earlier hikers of the spires of cathedrals. Once at the end of the trail you can climb, explore, and admire the incredible vistas of the Black Hills.

If you take a left and then the second right, you’ll be on the Little Devil’s Tower Trail which I have also done. The views from the top are incredible.
