In between Silver City and Demming is a small one square mile park in the southwestern portion of New Mexico with volcanic rocks as high as 40 feet. It’s a fun and strange little 40 million year old quirk of geology in the middle of a basin. The park offers stargazing, mountain biking, hiking, and it has plenty of campgrounds nestled up against the fun rocks.
